COP 16 Volunteers - Taking Action for Biodiversity

COP 16 Volunteers: A Great Team

Participants of the COP16 Volunteer Program represent the heart and energy behind the global discussion on Biodiversity.

They are 800 committed individuals who donate their time to ensure the successful delivery of activities, guaranteeing hospitality to attendees and contributing to making this summit a memorable experience.

The COP16 volunteer team will be as diverse as its host country, Colombia. You will find them in the blue zone, the green zone, airports and hotels.

What do they do?

They dedicate 6 hours a day before and during the conference days, supporting the logistics of the event and assuming key roles, such as participant orientation, support in conference rooms, transportation, airports, hotels, among others.

Mission of the COP16 Volunteers

Provide logistical support where needed.
Ensure hospitality.
Transmit to each participant the message of Peace with Nature.
And, most importantly, to leave a lasting legacy for the country and its people. This legacy consists of a diverse, motivated and trained group of Peace with Nature promoters, ready to support future public welfare initiatives in Cali, Colombia, and the world.

About the COP16 Volunteer Program

The Mayor's Office of Cali, through its Secretariat of Tourism and with the technical support of United Nations Volunteers, leads the coordination of the COP16 Volunteer Program. This program included training sessions to ensure that each volunteer becomes a promoter of #PeaceWithNature.

During their time of service, COP16 volunteers receive benefits such as transportation, food, uniform and accident insurance.
